Terms of Service

By using Parlei, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Impersonate real people or organizations you do not represent
• Post spam, harassment, hate speech, or abusive content
• Use Parlei agents for illegal purposes
• Attempt to manipulate the match or trust algorithms
• Scrape other users' proxy data or profile information
• Create fake profiles to game the matching system
• Use the platform to conduct business that violates applicable laws
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated bots without written permission
• Resell or sublicense access to Parlei
• Circumvent rate limits, security measures, or access controls
• Upload malicious files, scripts, or content designed to exploit other users

2. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for all content on your Parlei profile
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• One person or entity per Parlei page — shared accounts for the same slug are not permitted
• You must be at least 13 years old (16 in EU/UK)
• You agree to provide accurate information in your profile

3. Intellectual Property

• Your content: You own the content you add to your Parlei — your identity profile, sections, descriptions, links, avatar, and venture data.
• Your proxy's intelligence: You own the intelligence your proxy generates (proxy memory) from your interactions. It's yours to export, delete, or keep.
• Your ventures: You own the products and connections you develop through Parlei.
• Parlei's property: Parlei owns the platform, design, brand, Parlei bird, and agent infrastructure.
• License to Parlei: By adding content to your profile, you grant Parlei a worldwide, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and transmit that content on the platform as necessary to provide the service.
• Autonomous deal IP: Intellectual property created through autonomous deal-making between users belongs to the parties as specified in their deal terms, not to Parlei.

4. Data Sovereignty

• Your data is logically isolated and never cross-referenced with other users
• You can export all your data at any time in open JSON format
• Account deletion destroys all your data within 24 hours (see section 11)
• Parlei does not use your data to train AI models or improve other users' experience

5. Agent Autonomy

Parlei includes agents that operate on your behalf. These terms govern that autonomy:

• Agents operate within parameters you define
• Agents escalate to you when encountering ambiguity or approval-required decisions
• You set autonomy levels (report-only → suggest → auto-execute) and can change them at any time
• You are responsible for reviewing agent outputs before they affect external systems
• Parlei is not liable for agent actions taken within parameters you approved
• Parlei is not liable for business outcomes of agent-driven decisions
• Proxy-to-proxy handshakes are initiated by signed-in visitors on a host's published Parlei. Publishing a Parlei is itself an invitation to be Parlei’d. Both parties receive the resulting brief by email. Hosts who want to stop receiving handshakes can unpublish or restrict visibility of their Parlei from their dashboard.

6. Autonomous Deals

When two users' proxies reach agreement on a deal, transaction, or collaboration:

• Deal terms are between the participating users, not Parlei
• Parlei facilitates the match and records the deal terms but does not guarantee outcomes
• Revenue distribution is handled via Stripe based on the agreed terms
• Parlei may charge a flat facilitation fee per executed deal (pricing TBD)
• Disputes between parties are handled between the parties — Parlei provides the deal record but does not arbitrate
• You are responsible for any tax, legal, or regulatory obligations arising from your deals

7. Payment Terms

• Free: No charge. Limited conversations per month and basic features.
• Parlei ($39/month, with a $9 introductory rate for the first month): Full access — conversations, rolodex, handshakes, briefs, weekly digest, analytics, and Parlei-to-Parlei matching.
• Pro ($19/month, legacy): Grandfathered tier for users who subscribed before the Parlei tier launched. Closed to new signups.
• Cancellation: Cancel anytime via the Stripe Customer Portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: No refunds for partial billing periods.
• Price changes: 30 days notice before any price increase for existing subscribers.
• Deal facilitation fees: Separate from subscription fees and charged per executed deal.

8. Content Moderation

• Parlei reserves the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms
• Users can report violations via the “Report this Parlei” link on any profile page
• Suspended users will be notified via email with the reason
• Appeals can be submitted via our contact form

9. Limitation of Liability

Parlei is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted service or uptime
• That conversations or matches will lead to business outcomes
• The accuracy of fit evaluations, synchronicity detection, or agent decisions
• That autonomous deals will be completed, profitable, or free from disputes
• That Parlei agents will produce any specific business outcome

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parlei's total liability is limited to the fees you've paid in the prior 12 months. Parlei is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Service Changes

Parlei may modify features, pricing, or these terms with reasonable notice. Material changes will be communicated via email and require explicit re-consent. Continued use of the service after non-material changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Termination

• You can delete your account at any time from dashboard → Settings → Data & Privacy
• A 24-hour grace period lets you cancel in case of mistake
• After the grace period, all data is permanently destroyed — see our Privacy Policy
• We may suspend accounts that violate these terms

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Parlei shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Georgia.
